Enlighten Teeth Whitening
Tired of waxing or shaving unwanted hair? laser hair removal is a highly effective treatment to permanently and safely reduce the amount of stubborn unwanted hairs across the body and face.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Our advanced laser technology will target your hairs in their 3 growth stages – anagen, catagen and telogen. The anagen phase are when hairs are at their optimum stage for the laser system to be at its most effective due to the hairs still being attached to the blood supply and being at their most vulnerable. The pigment within the hair follicle absorbs the lasers heat which then effectively heats up the follicle causing the termination of the blood supply and follicle cells. This in-turn destroys further hair growth from occurring.
At Dr. Martin Nimmo Skin and Aesthetics, we treat virtually every area of the body. Some delicate areas such as the inner ear, inside the nostrils and over the nipple are not suitable for treatment however.
Am I suitable for Laser Hair Removal?
All skin types are suitable for Laser Hair Removal at Dr. Martin Nimmo Skin & Aesthetics with our system’s advanced technology. However, the hairs need to contain some pigment in order for them to be treated effectively. During your consultation we can determine whether your hairs are suitable for laser hair removal.

Skin cells that are energised function better and can renew up to 200% faster accelerating regeneration and repair.
A laser hair removal session can range from 15 – 90 minutes to dependant on the desired areas to be treated.
There are minimal risks with laser hair removal.
Post-treatment the area will appear red, slightly swollen around the hair follicles and can feel warm to touch with mild itching. These should subside within a few hours to 2days.
To avoid unnecessary irritation we would recommend you shave the hairs 24 hours before your treatment
Avoid the use of active ingredients (retinol, AHA’s and BHA’s) for 1 week
Sun exposure should be avoided for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment and a new test patch will be required before your treatments can continue (no fake tan should be used during your laser treatments)
If you are required to take new medication we may require to carry out a new test patch. Contact the clinic for advice if needed.
During your consultation a test patch will be performed and your first treatment can be carried out after 48 hours afterwards.
