Body Cellular Health and Ageing
It’s important to remember that what you look like on the outside is significantly impacted by what’s happening to the cells within your body, so it’s essential you take care of them.
At The Nimmo Clinic, we place huge emphasis on protecting and boosting cellular health. This means we help to ensure that your cells are functioning and communicating well.

What is cellular health?
Cells provide structure and function for all living things. It’s estimated that the body contains 50-100 trillion cells, of which there are up to 200 types, that carry out distinct roles.
The cells work alone to produce energy and proteins, while also working together to build tissue, which form organs and keep your body functioning.
Your body constantly regenerates new cells but, as we age, the rate and speed of this begins to decline. Many cells will start to function abnormally or will lose their ability to function all together. This is when we start to see the signs of ageing – aesthetically and through a decline in general health.

Can we maintain cellular health?
Leading a healthy lifestyle can have a really positive effect on your cellular health. Consider:
- Eating a more balanced diet
- Improving your hydration levels
- Reducing alcohol intake (the NHS recommends no more than 14 units a week)
- Increasing exercise (aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity a week)
- Using SPF daily
- Quitting smoking
